The protection of personal and sensitive personal data is very important to Sigma Vienna Insurance Group Sh.A. Kosovo Branch and the entire data processing procedure is carried out with complete confidentiality. As a Company, we are aware of how important your personal data is to you.
The processing of your personal and sensitive data is carried out in accordance with Law No. 06/L–082 on the Protection of Personal Data, which can be downloaded from the following link https://gzk.rks-gov.net/ActDetail.aspx?ActID=18616.
The processing of your personal data is essential and enables the execution of the contract/pre-contract concluded or to be concluded with you.
“Personal data” is defined by Law No. 06/L-082 on the Protection of Personal Data but refers at least to any information related directly or indirectly to a natural person (such as name, address, and other details).
Principles of personal data processing:
Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency – personal data is processed fairly, lawfully, and transparently, without compromising the dignity of the data subjects.
Purpose limitation – personal data is collected only for specific, clear, and legitimate purposes and shall not be further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes. Further processing for archival purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes, or statistical purposes shall not be considered incompatible with the initial purposes.
Data minimization – personal data must be adequate, relevant, and not excessive in relation to the purposes for which it is collected or further processed.
Accuracy – personal data must be accurate and kept up to date.
Storage limitation – personal data may be retained only for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected or further processed, unless otherwise provided by the relevant Law on State Archives, the Kosovo Tax Administration, or another applicable law.
Integrity and confidentiality – personal data shall be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security, including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage, using appropriate technical and organizational measures.
Data transfer will be conducted in all cases in accordance with applicable law. In case of domestic transfers, within EU countries, third countries (for technical reasons such as backup, etc.), or international organizations, the Company will ensure legal requirements are met before the transfer is executed. Transfers will be made to fulfill the contract.
As a company, we are obliged, in cases where required by supervisory institutions, courts, or other authorities as provided by law, to perform the transfer of your personal data to those institutions.
Retention period of your personal data
We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and for the time foreseen by the laws and regulations in force in the Republic of Kosovo.
After this period, your personal data will be deleted or anonymized, unless otherwise provided by the relevant Law on State Archives or another applicable law.

In accordance with current legislation, regarding your personal data, you have the following rights:

- To request correction, modification, or deletion of your personal data in accordance with applicable law;
- To restrict or object to the processing of data;
- To receive information on data transfers or to be informed of incidents regarding your personal data;
